Part of it makes sense. We live longer and longer, retirement age is something that needs to be adjusted with the human lifespan.
The problem is that our idea of what “work” should be is so awful that people look forward to retiring, and logically complain if they are denied the opportunity.
I’ve seen claims both ways, and it’s too much debate about semantics.
Those facilities are damaged enough to be useless in the short term (few months at least). In the long term Iran can build new facilities regardless if these ones are completely destroyed or merely damaged.
Especially now when so many NK weapons and soldiers are going into Russia, and all the way through Russia into Ukraine, another truck wouldn’t attract too much attention.
The question is would they want to?

As someone who went poverty -> comfortable -> not so well off, I can confirm. It was (mentally) easier to get up from the bottom than to deal with the loss and try to do it all over again and risk even further loss.

Sometimes it leads into coping mechanisms like needing a safe space. Trying to break down that barrier by force will not work, it will only make it stronger. You can hope to be invited in, but that requires understanding.
I feel like a Cassandra since I was warning about this for years now.
The gender equality narrative got too focused on excluding men specifically, instead of including the less represented gender in each profession. Somehow the idea was that men are privileged in the system and women oppressed, while the truth is that both men and women are oppressed.
Divide and conquer was a small step away from that point.
Let me try to phrase my opinion:
It’s unfortunate that gender-exclusive communities exist, but it’s a consequence of deeper societal issues.
Forcing the issue on social networks like Lemmy will actually make it worse, because those groups will feel in danger and want to separate even further.
Being able to access the community in read-only mode is a very good thing, because you’ll be able to gain insight into why they feel the need for a separate space. Read, learn and understand, even if you disagree.
The legitimacy of exclusive spaces aside, how did they know you were not a woman?

Usually, the word “democracy” is reduced to the word “elections” and here the field where the autocrats like to play.
That’s the problem. For a functional country, or “democracy” for short, you need mechanisms to prevent a collapse into autocracy. And general participation of citizens in decision making, which is related to my second point.
What I mean by “slave mentality” is better described as “rejection of personhood”. People supporting authoritarian governments reject their own status as a person, by rejecting their own (and everybody else’s) political agency. Usually by looking for some great leader to be a saviour, as long as you keep your head down and obey.
Political rights are what makes you a full person in a society.
But it is a lack of democracy institutions development. “Slave mentality” too, although I prefer different phrasing.

The amount of bags made is not fixed. If shops don’t buy bags from the manufacturer, they won’t continue making them in the same quantities.
